Pacific Northwest
When my husband Barney and I decided to move west from Pennsylvania in 1976, we took out a map of the US and unfolded it on our Formica table. We wanted to move somewhere that was beautiful and had a lot of outdoor opportunities for hiking, boating, skiing, swimming, etc. It had to have mountains and salt water. Seattle and Olympia popped out at us. We initially looked for jobs in Seattle but ended up finding jobs in Olympia. We have been here for 46 years and have loved just what we were after—the beauty, the opportunities to have fun in the mountains and on the salt water, meaningful jobs that have kept us challenged and great friends. In this series, I will share the beauty of our home.
