Great Blue Herons
We stop and stare when we see a Great Blue Heron. Why? Maybe it is because they are large birds compared to most. They have elegant necks and long legs. They can be so still and look so serene. Yet in a second, they may strike and gulp a fish. When they take off suddenly, their wings are large; their ascent graceful. Their blue-gray feathers are stunning, making Great Blue Herons perfect to paint.
