Hearts
My mom liked to collect hearts made of wood, glass, pewter and clay. She also liked to refinish and paint furniture. In the 1950’s Peter Hunt designs were popular. Peter Hunt incorporated many hearts in his designs, so my mother painted them on many of the pieces she refinished. Hearts always surrounded me growing up. Valentine’s day is one of my favorite holidays. In grammar school, we’d devour red cupcakes shimmering with sugar crystals. Messengers delivered homemade valentines until our desks were piled high. I will send many valentines this year. It is still fun! It is great to have heart greeting cards on hand. You can use them for Valentine’s Day, anniversaries, weddings, or friendship. Anytime you want to reach out to someone, they work. I love creating the Heart Series because there are hearts everywhere; if you notice them.
