Drinks
On a sweltering summer day, nothing quenches my thirst like lemonade. I also love anything citrusy and was in heaven when I went to Florida and drank fresh-squeezed orange and grapefruit juice every morning. On a summer night as a kid, nothing was better than a root beer float. There is a trick to making a perfect root beer float. You must use A&W Root Beer and Breyer’s Natural Vanilla Bean ice cream. After the first sip, ask the drinker if she wants more root beer or more ice cream. Very important. Now that I am an adult, I sometimes replace a root beer float with a gin and tonic or a mojito. I also make a perfect Moscow Mule! But sometimes, I will pour the root beer and remember the summer nights of my childhood.
